A Casco Bay Kitchen Since 2011
Liam Forsythe grew up in South Portland watching the draggers come in through the fog on Casco Bay. After a decade cooking in Boston restaurants that flew their fish in from everywhere but New England, he came home and opened Harbor Lane with a single conviction: the freshest seafood in Maine was already here, fifteen minutes from the restaurant by boat.
Today, most of what lands on our tables was pulled from the water the same morning by the families we've bought from since the beginning — the Alcotts out of Peaks Island, the Tremblay brothers in Yarmouth, and a handful of independent lobstermen who still run their traps before first light. The Peaks Island ferry is visible from our dining room windows, and the whole of Casco Bay is the backdrop for a meal at Harbor Lane.
We don't pretend to be anything other than what we are: a harborside bistro that takes the daily catch seriously, keeps the menu honest, and tries to send everyone home having eaten something that tasted exactly like where it came from.
